Brenda Frizzell – Oils
Brenda grew up in Sparta and attended nursing school in Charlotte. She retired from nursing in 2017 and currently lives in Johnson City, TN with her husband, two Treeing Walker Coonhounds and a cat who thinks he is Numero Uno.
She began painting as a hobby in 2006. She attended workshops in Greensboro and studied for seven years with Judy Meyler. She is an avid dog lover and that led her to painting portraits of the the pets of her friends and family members as well as dogs at the Guilford County Animal Shelter where she worked as a volunteer.
The beautiful countryside of Alleghany County is one of her favorite subjects to paint. She always has her camera ready to capture some of the beautiful scenes as she travels around the area. A country lane, an old barn, cattle in the field, the Blue Ridge – she tries to capture the beauty and spirit of all these wonderful aspects of life in Alleghany County.
