Uniquely Handmade, Mountain Inspired!

Lucy’s art is a reflection of a career in education that has taken her around the globe. She has lived and worked in many countries including China, England, South Africa, Vietnam, Tunisia, and Oman.

On her travels she has collected fabrics, beads, buttons, and ephemera. These diverse treasures are combined in her art- whether it is a patchwork silk scarf, beaded necklaces, or vintage collage greeting cards,

Lucy’s art also gives her a medium through which to express an optimistic philosophy. Each piece combines elements from at least 3 different continents. – This global fusion expresses her belief that the diverse peoples of the world can coexist as harmoniously as the beads in her necklaces and the silks in her scarves.

Lucy is also a passionate thrifter, who loves repurposing clothing, jewelry, and takes special pleasure in saving her finds from the landfill.

Lucy and her husband divide their time between their 120-acre tree farm off Rt 18 in Sparta and Durham, where husband Paul is a law professor at Duke and Lucy is a consultant to non-profits.
